Performance & Review in Mar-Apr 2016 (Apr 16 Expiration)

It has been awhile since my last post due to my work commitment overseas. While I am still closely following the market and trade, I couldn’t allocate much time to consolidate the thoughts and post it in my blog. Hence, I would exclude those few winning trades from reporting in live trades section.

There were total 3 trades opened and reported on 10 March. No adjustment was done throughout the life-cycle of the options. All these options matured last Friday during the expiration Friday.

Performance in Mar-Apr 2016 (Apr 16 Expiration)

  1. AMZN Bear Call Spread: $350 per contract in 38 days.
  2. LNKD Bull Put Spread: +$115 per contract in 38 days
  3. WYNN Bear Call Spread: $400 per contract in 38 days.

Refer here for original post and lesson learnt in the following screenshots.

AMZN – There are 3 opportunities for me to close the position with a profit rather than taking the max loss. However, I missed these 3 opportunities probably because I was busy traveling and only rely on mobile apps which may not be ideal in reading the chart.

The good thing is whenever I open a position, I always ensure I am comfortable to take the max loss. Hence, I am moving on as a better trader without much pain.

WYNN – Quite similar to AMZN. There are few chances to salvage the position or taking profit prior options matured. Anyway, let’s learn the lesson and move on stronger and better!
